House Music Brotha

La Homage to the Kings of the dance floor of the Paradise Garage, New York of the 1970's and 1980's. House Music brotha is a character from the days of dancing in clubs to House music where shaking a leg was a weekend work out. A time before mobile phone when you danced and moved your body and raised your hands as a form of release and thankfulness. The high was the beat. The eurphoria was the mix from the DJ.

Paradise Garage, also known as "the Garage''.The Garage was largely modeled on David Mancunsos private invitation-only DJ parties at The Loft.

Paradise Garage was an epicenter for early pioneers of dance music under the curation of resident DJ Larry Levan. The unique and eclectic styles of disco and dance music featured at the Garage gave rise to descriptive encompassing terms like New York house "garage", "garage style", and "garage classic" (to describe a record that was made famous at, or associated with, the club).

London n the early and mid 1980's had it's own mini version of the mecca that was the Paradise Garage. Once such club was the Lift. The Lift was a small club in a basement in SoHo, London that played hard garage and house music that was coming out of Chicago and New York. This and similar clubs laid the foundation to my love of music and the sound of New York.
