Bwoy
Bwoy
Taking inspiration from the photographs of Gordon Parks Bwoy is from a series of drawings that explore loss an isolation; whilst the signature gaze of using eye as the expressive communicator this drawing forces you to question your own perceptions of what you are looking at.
Bwoy is crude but sophisticated crayon drawing in Stephens signature expressive graphic line. Styling a flat cap on closer inspection Bwoy is a drawing of a young boy from a bygone era. 1940's New York, Harlem. Maybe he his job was as a shoeshine boy on the sidewalk. The drawing is beautifully box framed in polished wood in museum glass and flat mounted, another signature detail from the work of Stephen Anthony Davids. This small contemporary portrait drawing would offset any art collection and would be a great addition. A truly unique piece.
