Brokenose

Inspired by the story of The Kray twins from Bethnal Green London. This Ltd Edition print was produced in line with a body of work on paper of boxers and Russian prisoners. A reoccurring theme through my works on paper is drawing the outsider, villains men and women who operate outside of societies norm. The Kray twins and there story has always intrigued as they were both gay men who challenged the notion of masculinity and male identity at a time when such people were imprisoned for there sexuality. Also they rose to infamy in a post war East End and SoHo of London in the 1950's and 1960s.
