Influenced from a black and white photograph from the 1940s, this works on paper is from the series of works on Boxer and fighters. This series are all on unique Ledger sheets dating from 1840's - 1880's. The document is from an authentic ledger of Accounts from a Bank in the City. This was sourced from a collector and the each sheet in the ledger shows transactions regarding land and bonds from various states in America from the 18th century.
The work is in oilstick and pencil and combines the original text with subtle graphite lines of pencil. There are 7 drawings in this series.
